Sarah Middleton Hogg was born in 1804 in Georgia(probably Hancock County)Her parents were John Hogg(my GGGGrandaddy) and Mary(Polly) Foster. She married William Cornish,born December 15,1796 in Halifax County,Virginia.They were married April 16,1823 in Sparta,Conecuh County,Alabama. She died December 17,1887 in Arkadelphia ,Arkansas. In 1880, Mary Elizabeth HOGG REYNOLDS lived in Bosque County, Texas with her son Andrew Jackson REYNOLDS, a daughter Sophronia REYNOLDS, a son John R. REYNOLDS, and a daughter named Orean REYNOLDS. Mary Elizabeth HOGG REYNOLDS bore 10 children. In 1900, Mary lived with her son John R. REYNOLDS in Hill County, Texas. They rented the farm they were living on at that time. Mary was a personal and close friend of the white mother of Quannah Parker, Commanche Chief, while they lived in Texas. Click on photo to enlarge |
This photo of James Hogg was sent to me by Charles Houston who found it in an old photo album handed down to his mother. All he knows about this gentleman is his name, that he was a shepherd and the inscription said James Hogg at Kingledores As you can see the photo was taken in Peebles.
